Triumph is a 15′, solo, plywood and epoxy trimaran. L/B ratio for Vaka is 11.4:1. She will displace ~ 315 lbs sans crew. Each Ama displaces 640 lbs. This makes her stiff and therefor fast. Her flat bottom encourages planing speeds. I have spent a lot of time designing, building and racing iceboats where we sail on hard water at speeds up to 60 mph. Triumph is a soft water iceboat where the pilot need not be an athlete.
